A Merged Congregation: A Place to Be

Sunday, September 11, at 2:00 pm in our Sanctuary.

The Cotton Patch Gospel is “The Greatest Story Ever Retold”. It recasts the stories of Jesus and the letters (Matthew and John) of the New Testament into the language and culture of the mid-twentieth-century rural Georgia.

Based on the works by Clarence Jordan, founder of Koinonia Farm, in Sumter County, near Americus, Ga.

Live foot-stomping, hand clapping, down-home musical performance (soundtrack to the show was composed by Harry Chapin) with Curtis Campbell, who plays Matthew. Curtis Campbell is a retired United Methodist Pastor and has been a soloist with the Cape Fear Chorale, Wilmington Symphony, and NC Symphony. Also features Michael Commee, Mollie Philbin, and Dave Spencer.

The event is free! Masks are optional.
