A Merged Congregation: A Place to Be

In the Middle between Love and Lent

With Valentines Day candy on sale, one could argue the season of love is over. We’re moving on from the day we celebrate love—until next year anyway. We’re in the between times these days. Between Valentines and Lent, or winter and spring, and between Covid’s arrival and it’s demise (which can’t come soon enough). And yet, perhaps a little focus on love is the perfect set up for the upcoming season of Lent in the life of the church.

We often get distracted and busy by daily challenges that cause us to misplace the true value and joy in life. We need a bit of re-focus on God’s love for us and our call to love and care for others is needed. We always have an opportunity to give God our distractions, worries, and woes, and receive God’s strong love, peace, joy, and hope. Let us go our into the world with God’s presence and peace in our lives and our living and as Bishop Jones used to say, “keep the main thing the main thing” and use our lens of faith to guide our lives every day.  Peace,

Pastor Jason
