A Merged Congregation: A Place to Be

I’m especially appreciative of spring finding its way to us this year. It seems like winter has lasted three years (not really, but a real long time) while we’ve faced the challenges of Covid living. I never in my wildest thoughts did I ever expect to live in a pandemic time. I’d always thought they were locked away in the history books. And yet, here we are at the fourteen—fifteen month mark.

I’m thankful that we’ve been able to continue worshiping in one form or another during this whole event. I’m grateful that our congregation has remained as healthy as we have during this time and give God thanks and praise for seeing us through thus far. I’m thankful to each of you who have taken Covid seriously and cared for your family and friends, remaining distanced despite our preferences for being around others, for getting vaccines to help provide herd immunity and self-protection, and practicing safety measures. I’m so thankful there’s a end on the horizon, so it seems.

Here we are as we approach the Ascension (when the church remembers Jesus’ return to the heavens and the end the Season of Easter on May 23, with the celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples and in the world. The Easter season is the time to celebrate the gift of life, to lean upon our trust of God, and to celebrate the presence of God in our lives and world. May God continue to care and sustain each of us.

Peace,

Pastor Jason
