The United Methodist Church is actively present, working with local and state emergency management, FEMA, and other volunteers active in disaster. The Western North Carolina Committee on Relief have several suggestions on how we all can help in this effort. Financial donations can be made. Please mark your donations for our Western NC teams and relief aiding in Texas and beyond as “Disaster Response” and make checks payable to Western North Carolina Conference, PO Box 18005, Charlotte, NC 28218. You can also make a check to College Place UMC and note UMCOR Advance 901670.
Other ways to help include donating items needed for the UMCOR Health Kits and Cleaning Buckets. Instructions for the Health Kits are on the UMW Bulletin board, outside of the John Wesley Room, including lists of items needed. Instructions for the cleaning buckets are on the bench outside of Church Office. Once the cleaning buckets and health kits are assembled please bring them to College Place by 1:30pm Sept. 14.
